I absolutely detest the inaccuracy of the word "homophobia". What do you think of this as a replacement?

Because why debate when you can smear? Those tactics have been around since the original progressive movement. Poison the well. Anyone who disagrees is a racist homophobe wallstreet fat cat poor redneck sexist fascist pig. That way you don't have to actually prove your idea is correct.
