I want to dye my dress black?

If you put black dye on black, it will be black. You may have to dye it twice because some fabrics hold dye better, but It shouldn't Just make sure the dress isn't polyester- that won't dye because the fibers are basically plastic. I mean you can dye it but it involves practically melting the dress, and the colour is pale and light. Cotton is the best.
